Campervan Services Near Lisbon

Inside Lisbon there is no proper place to service Campervan, here are the closes places we recommend to fill water, empty grey tank and toilets for free:

- Coming from North:

Intermarche Santa Iria de Azoia

- Coming from South

Asa of Grandola

There are many more around the country, we recommend to use the app park4night, not only for services but also recommendations on where to sleep.

Road Trip to South Lisbon

Starting from Lisbon, you don't need to drive too much to start enjoying your day, if you like to Surf and long beaches, Costa da Caparica is 20 min away and will offer you plenty of spots to start your surf trip and enjoy the sunny weather.

We like the beach Praia da Mata and usually there are vans sleeping there.

Here you can find a beach Guide.

A bit south you will find Meco, 40 min away from Lisbon, in this area you can explore Lagoa de Albufeira, praia das Bicas where you can see a beautifull Sunset from the campervan, Cabo Espichel where you can see Lisbon and even Sintra in a clear day and Sesimbra, a beautiful fishing village where you can rent a Kayak and go to the not so Secret beach Ribeira do Cavalo. You can also go by Taxi boat there leaving the van parked in the Fishing Port. Sesimbra is very known for its fresh fish like Merlon, if you want to try, we recommend this authentic Restaurant Isaias.

Next stop can be Serra da Arrabida with it's beautifull views and small beach, still here we don't recommend too much due to hard parking and in almost all summer, roads are closed and you can only go with public transportation to the local beaches. If you are in Setubal, you can cross the ferry to Troia and go to Comporta, here besides the small village and long beaches we can recommend to go see a more unique place that is called Cais Palafitico Carrasqueira.

Next place to check is Sines, this is the last big town before enter Costa Vicentina, here you can find all types of big supermarkets to buy food for the next days.

Costa Vicentina Alentejo

First stop in Costa Vicentina is Praia de São Torpes, here is allowed to sleep in the van, there are always a bunch of motorhomes in the park, this beach was "famous" for it's hot water, but the power plant is off so no more hot water, the next beach and for us one of the prettiest ones is Praia Samoqueira, in this area you will find many small beaches that are worth to explore.

Porto Covo is a very cute place with one street full of Restaurants and shops that are worth to check.

Next beach we recommend Praia ilha do Pessegueiro. If you want a bit of surf in this area, you can try Praia do Malhão

Continuing south you can go to Praia Amalia, is also quite interesting it's entrance and you can find a small cascade in the beach.

Next town on the way is Vila nova de Milfontes, is worth to take a look at the village and go to the river beach, you can rent SUP board and even cross to the other side of the river.

Praia Almograve

Praia Zambujeira do Mar is next to the Zambujeira do Mar village, is worth to take a look and enjoy.

Costa Vicentina Algarve

Starting with  Praia Odeceixe, here usually there is always waves, still the best part is the lovely scenario where this beach fits in, here you can choose as much to be on the river side or on the ocean side of the beach.

Praia Amoreira is also a beach for Surf, here you can also go to the beach on the river side or on the ocean side,

Praia Monte Clerigo again can be good to Surf and is one of our favorites.

Praia Arrifana is one of the prettiest beaches for us, Surf is great but always crowded, if there is lots of wind, this beach is protected and can be a good option.

Praia da Bordeira is a huge beach and also good for Surf.

Praia Amado is a Surf beach and also very pretty.

Praia Cordoama can also be good to Surf, hard part is to park if in high season.

Praia Beliche can be good to Surf when swell is coming south, also if it is windy, on the beach you wont feel a thing.

Praia Tonel  and Praia Mareta are good to Surf when south swell.

Praia Barranco is an offgrid beach, can be good to surf.

Praia Zavial good to Surf when south swell.

Algarve

Benagil Cave, here you will need to rent Kayak or boat tour, go early since is quite crouded and popular

For a different experience we find Praia ilha Armona, this beach is accessible by boat on the port of Olhão.

Praia Cancela Velha is also very pretty, you can cross on low tide to the beach, be aware on the tides so you can also come back on foot crossing the river.

Praia Barril is another attraction, to this beach you can catch a funny train to access the beach, you can also walk to the beach, is also possible to catch boat from Santa Luzia village that is known for it's Octopos dishes.

Again these are all suggestions, there is plenty more to see...

Road Trip North Lisbon

Driving away of Lisbon, first stop can be Sintra, this place is known for it's palaces and Quinta da Regaleira for example, don't drive to the center, there is no parking and have many one way narrow streets, you can plan to stay here a full day, next you can drive to Cascais, stated as one of the most charming villages of Portugal, continuing north you can try Praia do Guincho for Surf, Kite Surf or WindSurf, next you will find the western point of Europe, Cabo da Roca. From here drive to Azenhas do Mar where you can find a small beach with a oceanic pool.

Moving North you can try Praia São Julião, here you enter in Ericeira, World Surf Reserve. Is worth to check the village. Still going north you will find another surf beach called Ribeira d'ilhas.

Jumping north you can check out Jardim Oriental Bacalhôa Buddha Eden, asian garden with multiple statues and art.

Next Area to visit if you like surf is Peniche. The more common beaches are Praia Super Tubos, Praia Baleal.

Obidos and it's Castle is the next village you can take a look and try the sweet ginginha drink.

Next suggestion is Nazaré, got very famous due to it's Huge waves, of course not everything is waves and you can take a walk on the village, eat good fish and see some old traditions like drying fish and octopus in the sun.

Near Nazaré there is a Camping place called Ohai and is known for it's hot water pools on the containers, you will have to book a slot to stay there for the night.

From here and last suggestion is Aveiro, is called the Veneza of Portugal.

Again, there is much more to see and explore so use your van freedom to make the van trip unforgettable.
